Ashley Riggins

Ashley was born and raised in Long Beach, CA.  She had always planned to be an elementary school teacher like her mom, until she discovered that early childhood education was more in tune with her teaching philosophy.  Ashley believes children need hands on experiences involving science, music, art and concepts about the world to become interested in reading about their interests when their brains are ready.  She taught at Great Beginnings Preschool in Long Beach for 25 years and was thrilled to get her first student of a student in 2021.

Ashley earned her Basic Core Certificate in Early Childhood through UCLA and returned to get her Advanced Core Certificate in 2017, which was awarded with distinction.  The UCLA professors were inspiring, amazing individuals with passion that was contagious!

Ashley loves getting to be a part of young children’s lives.  When she is not in the classroom she can be found in the deep blue sea, at a local farmer’s market, or taking a long walk in the fabulous city of Long Beach.
