Louann Wu

Teaching children about the natural world should be seen as one of the most important events in their lives.” – Thomas Berry, The Dream of the Earth

The butterfly counts not months but moments and has time enough.”– Rabindranath Tagore

Louann has been an early childhood educator in the city of Long Beach for twenty plus years. While earning her AA in early development with a specialization in curriculum, Louann continues her education through her leadership in Girl Scouts and hobbies like, hiking, painting, and bee keeping.

Louann’s passions include building relationships, relating to, and advocating for children of all ages. She believes that surrounding herself with young people, will bring her a long youthful life. She is a mother of three children of her own but welcomes the many teens in her neighborhood as their “second mother”. Louann’s favorite way to connect with children involve dancing, sewing, painting, digging in the dirt, singing songs, reading and storytelling. She enjoys opportunities to observe children’s behavior and conversations where she believes she will learn the most from them.

The planet is important to Louann, so she strives to make daily changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Louann enjoys spending time at her mountain home bird watching and having relaxing conversations on the patio. On most days you can find her in the garden where she feels most at peace, connecting with nature in a stress-free environment.
