Sarah Quest

Sarah wanted to be a teacher when she was younger but fell in love with journalism and got a BA in Communications instead. After a career in retail, her store closed, and she decided to (finally) go back to school to become a teacher. Two years later, Sarah finished the last semester of her AA in Child Development with a focus on children with exceptionalities from Long Beach City College. She has obtained certificates in early literacy and infant/toddler education with plans to obtain a few more as well as an AA in Linguistics because she is naturally curious and seeks knowledge… which means she has something in common with the students of Little Owl!

Sarah believes, first and foremost, that children are capable learners worthy of respect. She also believes that children learn best through play and meaningful interactions with adults. Art should be messy. Learning should be fun. Appropriate risks provide learning opportunities. Teachers should be curious and involved in the learning process too.

When she is not working, Sarah enjoys crafting, attending sporting events, and exploring SoCal. She plants and tends milkweed to help migrating Monarch Butterflies. She and her husband have one rescue cat named Louis. Sarah has been vegan since October of 2016 and has a deep respect for all animals.
