COVID UPDATES for Fall 2020 (June 5, 2020): Licensing regulations due to COVID-19 limits classroom size to ten children. Because of the limited numbers, Little Owl will be moving to Monday- Friday, full-time enrollment.

At this time, we are not scheduling any Parent Tours or accepting applications for our preschool program.

Join our community through our Little Owl At-Home Program! Partner with Little Owl educators and expand your child’s learning environment at home.

Details for the program are below.

Little Owl School is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Children must be 2 years 6 months through 5 years of age by September of the enrollment year. Little Owl School supports an anti-bias, humanistic education. We welcome families from all lifestyles: social, ethnic, religious, political, cultural, sexual, racial, economic, geographic, and philosophical. We actively resist and challenge bias and support social justice for the greater good. We are a state licensed facility through the California Department of Social Services.

Starting Fall 2020, our core program will be from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. We will have extended hours/after child care available from 4:00 pm-5:00 pm for preschool and 1:30 pm- 5:00pm for kindergarten. After care will be limited enrollment.

Annual Materials Fee*

A materials fee of $250 will be assessed the first month your child attends, and then each September the child continues in the program. This covers the items for earthquake preparedness kits and part of the cost for the richness of materials used by all of the children in the arts program.

Sibling Enrollment Information

Upon enrollment of your first child, we offer sibling priority for subsequent children in your family to attend our program. It is imperative to note that siblings are given priority to join the school when they turn 2.6 prior to summer or fall start times. We cannot guarantee a space for siblings for our older 3 or 4 year old classrooms.

In addition, siblings are only given priority when the second child is enrolled within 15 months of the last day of the first child or both children are attending Little Owl at the same time.

Little Owl offers a 10% reduction for the lesser tuition if families have more than one child attending. The reduction applies to tuition only, and not to any additional fees such as the Materials Fee or After-Care.

Little Owl School At-Home Program

The Little Owl At-Home Program offers the child and adult resources to help them extend, understand, and share their thinking about their experience with various art mediums within The Hundred Languages. The at-home learning program will provide parents with resources to provoke learning and facilitate meaningful explorations. As a member of a community of parent educators, you will be able to connect through a private chat and video platform with Little Owl staff and other community members.

There are many ways to share our thoughts and what we are learning about the world. This program gives children a chance to explore and use various means of open-ended expression. When children use their hands and tools to work with flexible materials that allow spontaneous and unguided responses, they develop the mental and emotional agility necessary in a continually changing world

Here is what is included:

  • A starter kit of materials each month
    • With written guidance for exploring the materials with the child
